I edit and translate legal documents with close attention to accuracy, terminology, and register, meeting the deadlines we agree on, with all work handled under strict confidentiality.

My services generally fall into two types:

I've translated documents across the legal systems of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, and Lebanon, giving me working familiarity with each jurisdiction's legislative and judicial framework and the ability to locate and verify the right reference material quickly when a term or concept doesn't translate cleanly.

Translation

Translation of Arabic source documents into English from scratch or supported by current AI tools, always reviewed by hand for accuracy and consistency. For individuals, law firms, and agencies, covering documents such as official documentation for submission to U.S. universities or agencies, law firm reports and articles, and court filings.

As an ATA-certified translator, I can provide a certificate of accuracy for submission to official bodies.

Editing

Copyediting of English texts translated from Arabic, written by a non-native speaker, or referencing Arabic legal systems. For law journals, individual authors, or law firms publishing content fully or partially in English.

I edit to a specific style guide and citation format where needed, and can work against the Arabic source directly to check translation consistency and clarity.

Proofreading/Light Copyedit

A limited review for documents that are already in good shape, or when time is short and you would like a second set of eyes to spot basic language issues.

This also covers the formatting and layout issues that often come up in bidirectional (Arabic/English) texts.
